Opera 9.1 to included fraud protection

With the amount of websites on the Internet, it is sometimes quite hard to distinguish between a legitamite website and a fraudulant one.

Opera is taking their fraud and phishing protection to the next level in the next release of the Opera browser.

The Anti-Phishing Working Group stated last month the amount of phishing websites totalled a whopping 14,191.

This technology that is being incorporated into Opera uses a database offered by GeoTrust, which was acquired by Verisign. Also users can submit whether a site is fradulant as posted on Opera’s blog.

Internet Explorer 7 - First Flaw found 24 hours after release

Well it seems that Microsoft is at it again with releasing a product too early just to get the head start over FireFox’s 2.0 browser.

Although there is a new bug found in IE 7, it is not rated as a big threat, but it is amusing for security conscience people.

Internet Explorer 7 to be released next week?

Microsoft seems to be quite confident that Internet Explorer v.7 has been completely tested and according to the MSDN Blog we should expect a final release in the US on October 18.

This will mark the first time since Microsoft has released an update for Internet Explorer since 2001 where Microsoft practically disabanded the development team until a new competitor; the Mozilla foundation started up their new project called SeaMonkey which later turned into Firefox.

The latest version of Internet Explorer includes built in anti-phishing tools, tabbed browsing and more enhancments.

Windows Vista new license is crippleware!

Well it seems like Microsoft does not make enough money and want to make computer ethusiasts pay dearly for damaged hardware.

According to TechWeb, Microsoft’s new license that limits the amount of time that the OS can be transferred. As one notes, Windows XP was transferrable many times but now, Microsoft has stopped that.
