Amid the recent release of iTunes 7 in conjunction with the release of the new models of iPods, many users have complained about issues with sound skipping and other problems related to the upgrade of iTunes to version 7.

Microsoft considering web based products

Microsoft, in stiff competition with Google, has been thinking that it should release its Microsoft Works as an online tool. Google, which has an online word processing program and now spreadsheets is finding it hard to compete.

Microsoft will now face a “two-sided” sword in the respect that Google could be gaining popularity from its free offerings, but if Microsoft releases an online version of Word and Excel how would the company make money? Microsoft Office is the biggest money maker for Microsoft and offering a fully compatible free online version could hurt itself and might not be worth the risk.

Windows Vista color coded DVDs

Windows Vista will be released in multiple versions once released. Microsoft decided to make things nice and simple for users who will purchase Vista and color code each release.

This has been the first time Microsoft has released an Operating System with so many different versions, and to add insult to injury, Europeans will also have 2 additional versions that exclude Windows Media Player from being incorporated due to the anti-trust settlement with the EU.

Here is the color code scheme that Microsoft will be introducing, and this will also help Microsoft Technicians distinguish features as well if the customer does not know which version of Vista the customer has installed on their computer.

Color Codings:

Light Green - Home Basic
Dark Green - Home Premium
Blue           - Vista Business
Platinum     - Ultamite
